Teaching in Yanshan University

Requirements:
 1. For language teaching: bachelor degree or above, 2 years of language teaching experience, excellent in language and literature of his/her own country
 2. For major course teaching: bachelor degree or above. Yanshan University will recruit foreign experts according to the school/department’s demands. We prefer the teacher with engineering or management background.

Teaching assignment:
The contract time is for one academic year, usually from early September to early July of next year based on the according university academic calendar. The total teaching time is 38 weeks. The weekly workload is 16 academic hours per week on average. One academic hour is equal to 50 minutes. The total number of teaching workload is 608 academic hours for one academic year and 304 academic hours for one half of the academic year.

Wages and salaries：

Direct payment
1、Salary    Salary is 4500 RMB /month after tax for BA , 5000 RMB/month after tax for MA and 5500 RMB/month for PhD. The salary will be paid monthly with RMB from the day of starting work. The full monthly salary will be paid before the 15th of each month. The academic year begin from early September and continue through the end of the second semester. Teacher will receive a salary for a period of not less than ten months. In case the time is shorter than a whole month, the payment shall be counted by day. The daily wage shall be 1/30 of the monthly salary (the same with February). No more than 70% of the salary can be changed into foreign currencies monthly. The foreign expert shall pay the personal income tax in accord with the Personal Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China.
2、Travel allowance   The travel allowance will be 4500 RMB. Half of the travel allowance will be paid prior to the end of the half of the academic year, and the other half will be paid after completing the whole academic year teaching.
3、Natural gas fee    The university will reimburse natural gas fee for the teacher who has fulfilled the duties of a complete academic year.
4、Overweight luggage allowance  Overweight luggage allowance will be offered to the teacher who has fulfilled the duties of a complete academic year and do not renew the contract. The teacher will be entitled to a maximum of 800 RMB overweight luggage allowance provided by our university.

Indirect payment
1、The apartment  The University will provide an apartment for free. We will guarantee the decent living conditions in the apartment.
2、Accommodation time  The teacher can move into the apartment one week before the starting date of the contract, if not renewing the contract, the teacher should move out of the apartment one week after the end of the spring semester or no later than July 15.
3、Facilities  The university will provide well furnished apartments with bedding, telephone, television, refrigerator, toilet, heating and cooling facilities, etc and pay for all utilities and maintenance fees.
4、Insurance  Foreign teachers must have their own medical insurance and injury insurance available in China. Foreign teachers will purchase their own medical insurance and the university will provide accidental injury insurance.
5、Airfare  The University will provide a round trip ticket (international economy class air ticket for the nearest distance between the teacher’s home point and Beijing or the point of entry in China as determined by the university) for teachers after they have completed one academic year teaching. Upon requests, we can also give the teacher RMB in cash equal to a minimum of 80% of the value of the airfare in lieu of a ticket.
6、Transportation privilege   The university will arrange travel from Beijing International Airport to Yanshan University for new coming teachers and the cost will be the responsibility of the university. Teacher who has fulfilled the duties of a complete academic year and do not renew the contract is entitled with car travel from the campus to Beijing International Airport and the cost will be born by the University.
7、Other fees   We will assist in obtaining the legal visas and other necessary documents for his/her coming.
